Jessica DeGroote Nelson

Senior Director of Strategic Optical Innovations

Jessica joined Edmund Optics^® in June 2022 with over 15 years of optical manufacturing experience. Prior to joining Edmund Optics^®, she had been with Optimax Systems Inc, where she was the Director of Technology and Strategy overseeing R&D, engineering, and corporate strategic planning.

Along with her team, Jessica helps coordinate new product and manufacturing capability introduction into Edmund Optics^®’ Strategic Optics Portfolio. One of the major Strategic Optics initiatives is precision aspheric lens manufacturing, where Jessica guides capabilities development and product strategy. Jessica received Ph.D., M.S., B.S., and M.B.A> degrees from the University of Rochester. She is highly active in industry societies, currently serving on the Board of Directors for SPIE.
